    how do these compare to a Taylor T5? I have an old T5 KOA and interested in something else. Rick Turner RS is to much and finish lacking...

    Coming from a guy that has most of all the Custom shop sets in a variety of Strats I own... I recently got a strat with the Yosemites in it. I was convinced after hearing them that they were some of the best Fender pups period. Best "strat" sound in all positions. Then I watched this and pretty much felt the same. I did like the V-Mod original as well. Then I read the comments and Yosemite had the best responses. I say this because if someone was looking for an unbiased view besides yours, you can take it from me. I've spent a lot on Fender CS pups only to find these Yosemites the best. Try a set out!

    If you know what to listen for it's not hard to get right when side by side. Maple is snappier/brighter. When in a mix? Who cares?! I like unfinished maple with some gunk on it more though 😎🤟

    Guitar A the white one sounds better throughout the test. Guitar B blue one is muffled/dull/muddy compared to Guitar A. But I suspect even though Fender claims they're both identical guitars somewhere in the circuitry there's a mismatch. A resister/capacitor/shielding/wiring is slightly altered between the two. I doubt it has anything to do with fretboard wood altering frequency/clarity of the chords and single notes coming out the speaker of the amp.

    I have one of these with the antiqued finish just like the one Carrie's playing. Just jaw-droppingly playable right out of the box (I have enormous hands) and has proved an invaluable tool for the purpose I bought it for - travelling on public transport to play in the bars I like to play in, where taking a full size guitar in a hard case is quite the challenge. The Fishman electronics are also perfect for this: on a less-than-fantastic PA it's pretty much indistinguishable from the average grown-up guitar. I couldn't be happier with it.

    Great video thank you! I recently bought a V100 in arctic white and it's a beautiful guitar but I do find the neck pickup is too muddy and as such loses definition somewhat so I'll be replacing both as I like having the same brand in a guitar. My choice when replacing pickups however won't be an overppriced brand like SD, I will always buy Tonerider as their pups are on a par with anything I've heard but the prices are extremely reasonable, these days getting ripped off with guitars, electrics and hardware is a choice, it's no longer mandatory.

    cONSIDERING TONE is 90% due to signal chain frmom pick-up sto cone, the real deal would be a pick-up switch and pot's and wiring, all at most for 400 $ used and mounted, the bridge also a no brainer , buy a good used one ffor 60 bucks....the custom shop are a marketing move for gullible people who want an expensive toy

    Now, some Squiers 60 strats sounds amazing. I look for high quality in the way it's made.Well, it's like this, vintera as a Corvette, US vintage 2 as a Mercedes. Lol 😊 PS take the Vintera. Cheaper price for the same sound.

    These sound awesome, really nice rythm playing too. It reminds me of the intro to something. Maybe it's the one of the other tracks by The Cult (not She Sells Sanctuary, something rockier). Oh yeah, it's The Cult - Wild Flower it reminds me of - which is Epiphone Casino too, good combo. I think I slightly perfer the variation of these than come with the licensed Bigsby. They don't cost that much more, look a little better, and I think a good trem suits the sound of a Gretsch, especially when played clean.

    This pedal will also get you a great Led Zeppelin sound that's VERY ACCURATE! I've been impressed with how with a bit of tweaking you can get the sound of so many bands without having to fork out a ton of money for extra pedals.

  • @compucorder64
    @compucorder64 11 днів тому

    I did guess correctly that A was the Pro. But, that's not to say I massively preferred. It was more articulate, and just had more in the high-end, but idk, Gretsch are bright anyway, so the Electromatic just ended up sounding a bit like an old record. The presence control, or Normal / Treble balance on an amp like a Marshall JTM or Plexi could probably get you to similar tones. On the drive tones, definitely sometimes found myself preferring the Electromatic, which could sound smoother. On the whole, it's not bad if the cheaper guitar sounds mellower / smoother, rather than thinner like you might find comparing a Squier to a higher-end Fender, or even entry-level Gibson's compared to higher-end, which usually sound smoother the more expensive they are.

    I've always thought that my hearing was not quite on point. The hiding the guitars really helped. Both sound great. Guitar A is brighter and sparkly, B has a richer tone but maybe like you are listening with some extra ear wax. Inother words i could tell straight away. If you are a professional recording artist, you nead A. If you rock out on your local pub circuit, B will be just fine. Both are great instruments with price points well below their competitors. I just need to justify getting one.

    Rosewood sounds wider with it[s mid range. Maple sounds more concentrated. Both guitars had good highs. But it's very hard when you don't use the same body because we've all been into a shop and picked up strats. The weight varies wildly and therefore the quality of the wood and whether it was at the top or bottom of the tree makes a big difference. But if you want wider or more concentrated in your tone then it's a part of the chain to think about. If you look at someone like Zakk Wylde. Mahogany has a wider grain and a wider sound. Zakk modernised the Les Paul sound with EMG's AND using maple set necks Whereas Eddie did something similar with bolt on maple necks, higher output humbuckers and basswood to be wider sounding than strat woods. If what you want is the tightest guitar possible then people start to use more and more maple in their guitars from the neck, fretboard and body top, in Jerry Cantrell's case the whole body. Which in turn helps you sound good with darker amp/pedal settings. Dual Rectifier, 5150, SLO100 etc. all had a lot more gain and bass than generations of amps before them. Hence why headless, stainless steel fret, multiscale guitars these days are on the brighter and louder side. There's a strong reason why Ibanez, Kiesel, Strandberg, Schecter, Ormsby, Anderson, Suhr, G&L, new design PRS (Weiner started it), Musicman etc. all have a scale of how much maple they generally use in their electric guitars. Maple has a magic to it that people can't deny that works so well in a huge mix or by yourself. What I see in the comments is that people don't realise how robust maple is and how delicate treble can be on a rosewood guitar because it sounds wider.
